Dark Glamour; inspired by American Horror Story, Hotel.
In a mesmerizing fusion of elegance and darkness, this styled wedding shoot was inspired by the Hotel series of American Horror Story and unfolded at the enchanting Cosy Club in Nottingham. Embracing the art deco ambiance of the venue, the creative team behind the shoot crafted an immersive experience that blurred the lines between sophistication and the macabre.
Every element of the shoot was meticulously curated by Celebrant Electric Joy Ceremonies with einspiration taken from several series. The main influence can easily be seen in Lady Gaga’s Hotel series of American Horror Story, but also a nod to the darker elements of potions and ritual of the Coven series, particularly during the Electric Joy’s ceremony.
The Cosy Club transports us into a realm that exudes the opulent vibes of a mysterious hotel from another era. Foxglove & Black was stylist, set florist and stationer; Becky’s keen eye for detail manifested in backdrops of black and green velvet, adorned with pearls and skulls delicately balances in geometric cages to mirror the Art Deco elements of the venue. Shimmering gold candelabras dripping in dark moody florals and pearls finishing the scenes.
The dramatic bouquets and grooms pocket flowers designed by Maddison Rocks Floral, intricately designed with skulls and art deco fans and lush dark reds reminiscent of spilled blood really capture the sinister events.
Against this backdrop, the bride emerged in a fitted black sequin dress with a daring leg split designed by Ryley and Flynn. The groom, resplendent in a black and gold brocade ensemble. Together Lou and Muz exuded an air of dark sophistication that complemented the ambiance of the venue.
Finishing touches of an art deco marble cake, with marble effect and gold geometric shapes by Shirley Rae, a ceremony newspaper by Photopress, and heart-embroidered leather jacket by Niamh Designs really brought the theme together.
From the grand staircase to blood red details and geometric encased skulls, the shoot encapsulated a timeless goth vibe that resonated with luxury and mystery.
