Introducing: Sira Rose Makeup
I hear it so often during wedding dress fittings; that dilemma between wanting a stress free wedding morning and worrying that a makeup artist won’t be able to make you look how you want so you’re contemplating doing your own makeup.
It’s a toughie; the desire to have a professional makeup artist create your makeup look so you know you look your best the entire day, balanced against trying to find an artist that not only GETS the look you’re going for, but can advise you on style and give you options within the look you’re going for!
Well, the dilemma is over, because you CAN have it all… a stress free wedding morning, confidence that your makeup will last all day AND feel and look like the Gothic Goddess of your dreams, because Sira Rose Makeup will be at the TilDeath Gothic Luxe Wedding fair on the 22nd Jan and we cannot wait!
What do you do?
I am a freelance makeup artist and prosthetic artist based in Sheffield. I mainly work for the film industry and my social media in filled with various looks inspired by my love for horror movies and Halloween.
I also take bookings for alternative wedding makeup and hair. As I am alternative myself, I love to create makeup looks that are gothic, darker and more alternative in style. My aim is to make my clients feel 100% comfortable and confident in themselves. I know the struggle of finding someone who understands that they want to be that Dark Gothic Queen like Morticia Addams on their big day.
How did you get in to this?
Makeup has been a big part of my life since the age of 7. My father got me into old horror movies and Doctor Who and since then I was fascinated and I knew what I wanted to do. When I do make up I feel relaxed and free. I love the feeling of desiging and creating looks whether that will be prosthetics or wedding makeup. I always get a massive rush of happiness when my client is amazed and happy.
What’s the process of working with you?
The process when working with me is network with me by emails and phone call. I like to chat with people before working with them to get to know a bit more about them, and then have a discussion about the work.
How soon do people need to book you?
People can book me fairly quickly. I always recommend to book in advance as then i can secure them in the diary.
What piece of advice would you give?
Always be true to yourself, never let anyone change who you are!
What’s you’re proudest achievement?
My proudest acheivement is that I have worked on a feature film and i was teh head of the makeup department. I always get to travel to awesome places for my job so being part of the industry and working with different people is an achievement in itself.
