Introducing: That Celebrant Guy

Creating Fun, Memorable Wedding Ceremonies

I’m Glenn and I’m a celebrant.

Nobody ever quite knows what we do, but here I am to educate and open the eyes of the couples in the UK to the wonderful world of celebrant weddings.

I write and deliver bespoke, personal, fun and super inclusive wedding ceremonies, by working really closely with couples - finding out what makes them tick, their likes and dislikes, what they love doing and so on - and putting all that personality into an unforgettable wedding. Literally, get hold of the rule book and stick it in the bin, we don’t even need to consider the No’s and Cant’s. It’s your wedding day, and why shouldn’t you have what you want?

How did you discover you wanted to be a Celebrant?

A friend of mine had seen me on stage and after some deliberation (and wine… plenty of wine) she asked me to be celebrant for her wedding. We’d had a discussion about how quite often the ceremony is ‘dull’ and quite frankly it’s the least memorable part of the day. Poor form really. Without a ceremony you’ve no wedding, just a glorified party. We decided the wedding was going to be fun, inclusive, and most of all something nobody would ever forget. And so it began. Her friend then saw me at that wedding, and I did hers. Time went on and it just really took off, and I absolutely bloody LOVE it.

Since then I’ve written and delivered lots of weddings around the UK and actually one where I used to live in Mallorca.

What’s the process of working with you?

First of all, we chat. Video calls, trips to the pub or cafe, dog walks, whatever you like. We talk through all of your ideas and we discuss how we can make them work.

From there, I get writing. You get unlimited revisions and edits of the ceremony so it’s EXACTLY as you want it. This means I can help you with peoms, readings, writing your own vows, absolutely everything.

By the end of the planning and the day of your ceremony, I like to think of couples not just as clients, but as friends.

You can guarantee that working with me will be MEGA fun, which is really important to me.

What’s your best piece of advice?

It sounds cliche here… but it’s your day so do it your way.

Take advice from a select few but don’t listen to other people telling you how it should be done, what you should or shouldn’t do, because it isn’t their wedding. It’s yours. Likewise, choose suppliers that work with you, that suit your vibe and the sort of day you’re planning.

Also, book early. As soon as you’ve set your date get in touch so we get planning the BEST wedding day E.V.E.R.

What’s your proudest achievement?

I was recently recognised and awarded as one of the Top 5 Celebrants in the North of the UK at the North West Wedding Awards. That was pretty cool!
