Introducing: Vicky Dubois Photography
Fun, relaxed & honest wedding photography:
Vicky Dubois Photography is one of the organisers of the TilDeath Alternative Wedding Collective, and we are excited to share in her crazy geeky energy and Potter obsessed bubbliness. We know you’ll fall in love with her infectious energy and ability to put anyone at ease. But most importantly her eye for detail and dedication to the perfect shot!
I (Charlotte - Legend Bridal) first met Vicky as a bride-to-be. It was during her wedding dress fittings that we found out she was a wedding photographer and that she’d love to do a shoot with us… and what an awesome decision that was! Our first shoot together was at Whalley Abbey (pic below) and 4 years on I can safely say she’s one of the best/easiest/most professional photographers to work with!
What do you do?
My number one priority is to make sure your photos reflect your personality. Your wedding day is all about you, so creating something personal for each client is what I love best. Every couple is special and unique, and I want to capture your true spirit so you have something that you can say is truly yours.
My inspiration comes directly from you. I want to know who you are, what music you love, if you have a proud collection of rocks from all the places you’ve visited (I keep mine in a jar), your favourite colour, what Hogwarts house you’re in and all the bits in between. Knowing all about you makes my job so much easier and creates a bespoke experience for you too.
How did you get into this?
Photographing weddings was something I did NOT want to do. All the whiteness, tophats , and the stuffy traditions that make everyone’s wedding day seem like a clone completely put me off getting married myself.
When planning my own wedding I found the epicness that is Legend Bridal designs. From there I found my weird and wonderful home. Believing that the wedding market had no place for me, made me think, “Surely I’m not the only one?”
What’s the process of working with you?
Just send me a message via email, Facebook or Instagram. If I’m free on your date, we can arrange a video chat to talk about all things you and your day. After this, if you’d like to book, you just need to sign my contract and a £250 deposit to secure your date. (Final bill paid 6wks before wedding date)
We will then have one or two catch-ups in between then and your date, depending on how far in advance you’ve booked.
When your epic day is over, I’ll then proceed to edit your photos. You’ll receive one image the night of your wedding, a sample gallery of 70-100 photos one month later and your full collection approximately three months after your wedding. My editing process is a thorough one to ensure you get something magical.
How soon do people need to book you?
As soon as you know your wedding date.
Once you have your date in your venues diary, you should be thinking about your photographer. Especially if you are looking for someone/thing specific, we don’t half get booked up fast.
What piece of advice would you give
What..? Just one Peice?
Hmm… Make all your decisions for yourself.
If Auntie Margret doesn’t approve of your black wedding dress, then she can sit at the back where she can’t see! Or in the car park, I don’t care as long as you do what it is that you want to do!
This is YOUR day, no one else’s!
Anything else you want to include?
Once you have booked with myself, I’ll always be at the other end of the phone for advice and reassurance. You don’t just get a photographer, you gets an information centre, wedding therapist and a friend.
I’m based in Greater Manchester and travel nationally. I also have a studio at Legend Bridal in Great Harwood.
